Shirley Parish Hatfield, a native of Rush
Springs, Oklahoma, has been an active painter since 1960. Initially a realist, she recently
developed interests in the austere style of David Leffel, and
Mary Cassette's vigorous craftsmanship of classical subject matter. Her
ability to bring out depths of personality within each of her subjects
with color and expression has enhanced her increasing popularity as a
painter of people.
